[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you are starting a company, raising money, working on getting a great job, or trying to do just about anything that will propel you forward, there is a secret sauce. It is called your “unfair advantage”.

Unfair Advantage is why you will win. It is why people will want to work with you, hire you, back your deal, or give you the contract you want. An unfair advantage is an edge. It’s something you have that others don’t have and hopefully can’t get.

Examples:

  • You have a patent on your product (protected so others can’t copy it)
  • Your brother in law is the CEO of the company giving you the contract (a relationship advantage your competitors don’t have)
  • You have a sourcing relationship that gives you access to materials your competitors don’t have to create a competitive product
  • You have done it before, been there, or seen it (you have experience others don’t)

What do you do if you don’t have an “unfair advantage”?  Create it.

Stop what you are doing and create one. If you don’t have experience, get an advisory board that does. If you don’t have the right contact, use your network to get it. Your unfair advantage will give you confidence. It will help you talk about what you do and why it will work. It’s one of the big reasons you will win. Go get your unfair advantage!
